In the future, the effective, scalable and affordable production of FGM parts may be most likely to be SLS or SLM 3D printing.These powder beds are fast, relatively inexpensive and can produce batches of various sizes.However, the way they have been making FGM composite materials on a large scale has not been proven.The key of FGM composite materials using powder bed fusion technology is the multi-powder deposition system which is combined with the dual-material co-sintering, which can provide the body element level control during the printing process.Aerosint is developing some products along these routes and has so far achieved dual powder deposition.In theory, the number of materials is infinite, so long as the flow and particle size distribution is compatible with SLS technology, the powder can be polymer, metal or ceramic.

In order to achieve the integration of multi-material composite materials in 3D printing, this could mean a huge expansion of the possibility of additive manufacturing.Each manufacturing industry benefits from a new generation of reasonably priced components with complex geometric shapes and advanced material properties that can be produced as quickly as needed.
