EOS New Polymer That 3D Printing Technology Will Replace Injection Molding

Headquartered in Germany Krailling industrial 3D printing system manufacturers EOS announced on formnext 2018 show "revolutionary" polymer material manufacturing technology.The company said, the new technology called LaserProFusion is the only viable alternative to the injection molding of added material manufacturing technology.


EOS new LaserProFusion technology USES millions of diode laser to melt the material and add parts step by step, rather than using a single CO2 laser to respond to cover the entire building envelope, such as standard laser sintering process.The company claimed that the build process is very efficient, can serve as many applications of injection substitute.

Laser array can realize the biggest total output up to 5 kw.For each layer, activates only CAD data to match with the parts of diode laser, until the precise pixel.Whatever parts number and its geometric shape, the new technology can significantly shorten the exposure time.



In addition, EOS will introduce a material called technical preparation level (TRL) classification system.TRL developed by NASA, material and process are classified according to the technical maturity.EOS its material products can be divided into two categories: TRL 3 to 6 refers to the core product, and high quality products belong to TRL 7 to 9 class, new manufacturing.Level 5, for example, is refers to the verification of technical solutions, and the highest level 9 is refers to the use of a large number of statistical data record full production capacity.TRL classification system goal is to provide manufacturers validated the additional series of application data base.
